At Superior, we know that the way we produce today largely defines the tomorrow we are building. Therefore, one of the first steps in our environmental management has been to measure and understand our carbon footprint, backed by international certifications such as the ISO 14064-1 greenhouse gas quantification. More than just an indicator, this measurement has allowed us to better understand our operation, identify strategic opportunities, and make agile, responsible decisions involving every area of the company.
Transforming the operation from the Superior DNA
Transforming an operation begins by understanding where the impacts are and how we can progressively reduce them. Analyzing our environmental footprint has driven us to develop concrete actions, integrating sustainability in a practical and simple way into the daily lives of our Gente Superior.
Based on this analysis, we have implemented initiatives focused on energy efficiency, resource optimization, and impact reduction. Today, we are proud to share that 43% of our electrical energy comes from renewable sources, in addition to the historical reduction we have already managed of more than 273 tons of CO2 equivalent in our facilities. We continue to strengthen practices oriented toward the efficient use of materials, such as packaging recovery and the use of reusable alternatives. This is our part in caring for the environment we share.
A long-term vision for the industry
Sustainability is not built from isolated actions, but from consistency and continuous improvement. For this reason, at Superior we work under rigorous international guidelines such as SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative). These standards allow us to advance in a structured manner, setting a clear course toward a more efficient operation aligned with the major challenges of climate change.
Every improvement and every optimized process represents an opportunity to continue building a more responsible Ecuadorian industry, prepared for the challenges of the future and deeply aware of the impact it generates today.
